Requirements of pressure swing adsorption technology for programmable valves: Programmable valves are important components in pressure swing adsorption units, enabling them to carry out their processes; they are also key devices that ensure the normal and reliable operation of such units. Due to the special nature of pressure swing adsorption units, a large number of programmable valves are required to operate frequently. As a result, the performance criteria and requirements for such valves are much higher than those for ordinary valves. In addition to having good sealing properties, fast opening and closing speeds, and good regulation capabilities, they must also be able to operate reliably over long periods despite frequent use. Its specific requirements are summarized as follows: (1) Long operational life, requiring at least 300,000 cycles of opening and closing without any internal or external leakage ; ⑵ It has a fast opening and closing speed; depending on the valve diameter, the opening and closing time should be less than 1–3 seconds ; ⑶ Some valves require bidirectional flow capability ; ⑷ In addition to the aforementioned properties, some valves also have a regulating function ; ⑸ The internal and external sealing of the valve are required to meet the ANSIB16.104 sealing standards after 300,000 actuations. For programmable valves used in the pressure swing adsorption process for producing carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, even stricter requirements are imposed on their internal and external sealing; otherwise, the carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide products extracted by the vacuum pump will not achieve a purity level of 98.5% ; ⑹ It features on-site indication of valve position status and remote signal transmission; its service life is comparable to that of programmable valves, and it meets the explosion protection requirements for Zone II. Technical parameters: Nominal pressure PN (MPa): 1.6, 2.5, 4.0, 6.4; Nominal diameter DN (mm): 32, 40, 50, 65, 80, 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450; Operating temperature: -30°C to +120°C
What the poster shared is likely the performance of valves from a certain manufacturer. In fact, two-way flow is generally necessary during the pressure swing adsorption process; there is also a requirement for indicators to show when it is on or off, which is quite important. Additionally, it should be easy to replace components in case of sealing failures, and so on
