Generally, the machine seals from the same manufacturer are used. We only need to quote the model number.

Both the pump model and the mechanical seal model can be reported, but the delivery cycle of the mechanical seal model may be shorter if you directly quote the mechanical seal model, while the delivery cycle of the pump model will be longer because the pump manufacturer does not make mechanical seals. When you arrive at their factory, you have to go to the mechanical seal factory to order, which requires more procedures. It is best to find a manufacturer with good service for surveying and mapping, which will make reporting and maintenance easier in the future.

There are standards for mechanical seals, such as JB/T1472, etc., see the mechanical design manual, but some pump factories often use non-standard mechanical seals, so they have to order from the pump factory, and the price is much higher.
Each seal manufacturer has different models, and large manufacturers have their own model systems. Small manufacturers use the same standards as those of large manufacturers or follow the national standards, but some sizes are different. It is best to report them to both seal manufacturers and pump manufacturers.
1) Each regular sealing factory has its own proprietary sealing form and model (some small factories directly imitate those of large manufacturers and use the codes of large manufacturers), but they all meet certain standards and can be interchanged.； 2) Pump factories generally do not produce seals, and each pump factory chooses different supporting seal manufacturers. ； 3) The matching seals of the same type of pump may also be different due to different operating conditions. To sum up, it is best to contact the original matching seal manufacturer directly and order according to its seal model.
Nowadays, every sealing factory has its own product models, especially for companies like Johncrane, which cannot be unified. But generally speaking, for mature processes, like the pump you mentioned, just report the model number directly, and the mechanical seal manufacturer will know as soon as you hear it. They have fixed models to recommend to you, and they have been used for many years. Haha, what I am doing now are all non-standard equipment, so they have to be designed according to specific working conditions, so they are a bit more complicated.
There is no fixed model for mechanical seals. Each manufacturer has its own set of model construction methods, but they remain the same. Mechanical seals do not have a unified number. When ordering, they are mainly based on the type of sealing medium, size of the shaft, etc. Generally, when choosing products from companies such as Burgmann and Dandong Klon, please refer to the manufacturer's selection guide.
The mechanical seal model is not fixed and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. However, the structural type is basically the same. There are unified regulations such as JB, ISO, API, etc. There are similar regulations. You can refer to these books for detailed introduction.
