As the title suggests, if companies are in need of plastic raw materials such as PE and PP, where do they usually purchase them from? Do they go directly to Sinopec or its agents, or to some plastic markets? What are the advantages and differences of purchasing from each of these places?
Sinopec is great, but the price isn’t necessarily lower than buying directly from dealers. If the quantity is large, ordering from Sinopec can be considered.

We are a logistics company based at the port; we handle a lot of imported PP and PE shipments. As mentioned above, for small quantities, we go to the warehouse and ask the shipper to purchase the goods. For larger quantities and long-term shipments, we turn to import/export companies to sign agreements and establish relevant terms
Is it possible that the raw materials sold by those first-level agents contain recycled material?
These raw materials are widely available in the market; if you have the time, it’s best to visit various suppliers in person to get an idea of both the market conditions and the quality of the products. Today, PE and PP are both common materials that are widely used. In addition to those produced by China’s petrochemical industries such as Dagang Ethylene, Yanshan Petrochemical, and Yangzi Petrochemical, there are also many imported versions, those from Saudi Arabia, Exxon, and Dow. Sometimes, the price of imported PE is similar to that of domestic PE. These materials are not mixed with recycled content, which can be seen from the packaging, color, and granulation. Moreover, today’s distributors make money based on volume; if they don’t stock up goods, they basically rely on selling as much as possible. So there’s no energy to go to fraud and make this industry so complicated. However, if the price difference is significant, it is something to keep in mind.
