In the experiment, material is pumped from one tank to another; how can we determine that all the material in the first tank has been transferred to the second tank? Both tanks are under pressure and have a volume of 10 liters. Additionally, how can automatic control of the material transfer be achieved?
It is possible to consider installing a sight glass at the discharge outlet of the discharge tank, so as to check whether all the material has been discharged. Additionally, ordinary glass-lined reactors are equipped with sight glasses, allowing observation through them. Also, if possible, a level gauge can be installed on the reactor, with its lower connection point located below the lowest point of the reactor; this will also allow it to be determined whether all the liquid has been drained.
Assuming the two tanks have the same volume, install a high-level and a low-level detector in each tank and use sequential control. When tank A reaches its high level, the discharge control valve opens, allowing the material to be pumped into tank B; the valve closes automatically when the low level is reached.
