I would like to ask everyone: how long can the outer iron sheet used for insulation last in oil refining and ethylene plants? What problems might arise from using 304 steel plates as the insulation cover?
Generally, it’s 5-8 years; it depends on the thickness of the zinc coating on the galvanized iron sheet you purchase. Stainless steel, aside from its higher cost, won’t present any problems.
It takes 8 years in coastal areas, and 10 years in inland areas. They now use aluminum sheets instead.
The 304 steel plate mentioned by the poster is not easy to bend. . .
It is closely related to the on-site environment, such as the presence of acidic gases in the working environment or heavy rainfall.
