This article introduces the applications of several special blowing agents. Overview of the N-series environmentally friendly heat-absorbing blowing agents: These products are mainly used in the extrusion and injection foaming processes for PVC, TPR, PS profiles, sheets, and films. They are utilized in the production of various low-foam plastic products such as blinds and frame materials, as well as PVC injection slippers and sandals. Features ● No scaling on screws ● Controllable foaming ● Good whiteness of the product ● Uniform pores ● Smooth surface. Application instructions: This series of foaming agents are white, flowable solid powders; their decomposition residues are pure white and do not affect the color of the product. They have good compatibility with PVC, TPR, and PS, and can be evenly dispersed in the resin melt during processing to form a homogeneous system. At the same time, the product contains a pore regulator, which results in fine and uniform pores in the foamed product, thereby ensuring consistent performance across all parts of the product. The raw materials used in the production of these foam agents are food-grade additives; moreover, the gases produced during decomposition are N2 and CO2, which do not cause corrosion to the manufacturing equipment. They also have no adverse effects on human health, making them environmentally friendly products. The foaming agents in this series are endothermic foaming agents; they have no induction period, and their decomposition occurs gradually without any sudden spikes. As a result, during the processing stage, the bubbles in the melt grow uniformly and steadily, without rupturing or escaping to the surface and thus affecting the surface quality of the product. Therefore, the product can be endowed with excellent properties of uniform pores and a smooth surface. Technical specifications: Chemical composition: Modified carbonate. Appearance: White, flowable powder. Decomposition temperature: 160–180°C. Gas generation volume (STP): 140±5 ml/g. Average particle size: 6–8 μm. Moisture content: ≤0.3%. ACP-W low-temperature blowing agent. Product description: Widely used in the foaming of EVA, PE, PVC, natural rubber, synthetic rubber, and PVC+NBR blends; particularly suitable for large-scale and small-scale hot-press foaming of EVA MD. Features: ● Low decomposition temperature ● Good whiteness of the products ● Stable foaming ratio ● Good elasticity of the products. Application notes: The low-temperature ACP series of foaming agents have a low decomposition temperature, so no activators are needed to initiate their decomposition. By reducing the use of foaming aids, it is possible to lower costs and avoid the formation of unwanted colors; therefore, these agents are ideal for producing products with a pure white color. When producing colored products, a large amount of pigment can also be saved, thereby making the colors of the products brighter, more vivid, and more realistic. The low-temperature ACP series of blowing agents can provide products with a good cell structure. Their key advantage is that they enable the production of whiter high-quality EVA materials for shoes, without affecting other physical properties. It is recommended to use this series of blowing agents at lower mixing temperatures and under normal vulcanization conditions, in order to avoid premature foaming, which can result in defects such as uneven pores and large pores in the final product. Technical specifications: Grade: ACP-W; Chemical composition: Azodicarboxamide complex; Appearance: Light yellow, easily dispersible powder; Decomposition temperature: 128±2 ℃; Gas evolution rate (STP): 140±3 ml/g; Average particle size: 8–10 μm; Moisture content: ≤0.3%; Ash content: ≤0.3%; pH value: 8.0–8.5. JTR series medium-temperature foaming agent. Product description: Widely used in the foaming of plastics such as EVA, PE, and PVC, as well as various rubbers; particularly suitable for hot-pressing large-scale and small-scale foaming processes in EVA shoe materials. Features ● High product whiteness ● Stable foaming ratio ● Uniform and fine bubbles ● Free of formaldehyde. Application instructions: In EVA/rubber mixtures, this series of foaming agents can decompose at around 160°C, releasing useful nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and a small amount of ammonia. Medium-temperature foaming agents have a relatively low decomposition temperature; thus, no activator is needed to accelerate their decomposition, and they can decompose completely in a short time, without any residual foaming agent causing discoloration in the final product. A small amount of zinc oxide, stearic acid, and their salts can also be added to activate it, enabling it to decompose at lower temperatures. The decomposition of the blowing agents in this series is relatively mild; their decomposition process matches that of the crosslinking agent (DCP) over its half-life, allowing the foaming speed and the crosslinking speed to proceed simultaneously. This results in foam products with fine pores, as well as a significant reduction in the time required for foam crosslinking. Foamed products exhibit excellent physical properties, especially with a significant increase in resilience. Like low-temperature foaming agents, the foaming agents in this series can provide products with a fairly high level of whiteness without the need to use large amounts of white pigments such as titanium dioxide, thereby avoiding the drawbacks associated with excessive use of such pigments that could affect other physical properties of the products. This product does not have the characteristic formaldehyde odor associated with conventional low-temperature foaming agents in finished products. The medium-temperature foaming agent series combines the advantages of high-temperature and low-temperature foaming agents, making it an ideal modifier for AC.
