I want to upgrade the hardware dongle of ABB’s DCS, only upgrading the software version while keeping the functions unchanged. For example, can the firmware for freelance2000 6.1 be upgraded to that for CBF8.X? If anyone has knowledge in this area, please share it with me
Yes. But you need to send the Hard Dog account back to the manufacturer, who will then provide you with a software account. This type of upgrade is charged.
How can I level up? Crack it? So talented, just kidding. The manufacturer charges a fee; it will probably be necessary to buy it again. Why do you want to upgrade? And why do you need to reconfigure it as well?
Upgrading is no problem; the 6.1 version has been in use for almost 10 years, so it’s time to upgrade. The current latest version is CBF V9.2, and the upgrade process is very straightforward – no adjustments to the software or hardware are required. ABB DCS
Upgrade the hardware dongle; only upgrade the software version. Send the hardware dongle’s serial number back to the manufacturer, who will provide you with a disc containing the license. After upgrading the software, you can then install the license. This situation usually occurs when the software version is outdated and does not support new features, requiring an upgrade; or when the original system’s hardware dog supports a limited number of points, necessitating an increase in that number.
