Can current students take the exam to become registered chemical engineers?

It’s possible to take the exam; many students took the basic examination during their postgraduate studies, and they had more time and resources available while still in school. But in cases like this, I’m not sure if one can take the specialized exam a few years after taking the general exam; does anyone know?

Although one can take the basic courses, if they go to work in the future and do not engage in design work, the qualification obtained is not sufficient; taking the exams is essentially pointless in such a case. So be careful.

The basic exam can be taken, but the professional exam cannot; there is a requirement regarding work experience!

Having obtained a bachelor’s degree or higher in another engineering field, with at least 8 years of cumulative experience in chemical engineering design work. 　　 (5) The educational qualifications or degrees mentioned in the above application requirements refer to those **recognized by the education authorities. The deadline for the experience in chemical engineering design required among the above application criteria is the end of 2005. 　　 (VI) As of December 31, 2002, those who meet one of the following conditions may be exempted from the basic examination and only need to take the professional examination: 1. After obtaining a secondary vocational diploma in this field, have accumulated at least 25 years of experience in chemical engineering design work ； Or, after obtaining a secondary vocational diploma in a related field, having worked in chemical engineering design for a total of 30 years. 　　 (7) With the approval of the relevant departments of the State Council, foreign nationals and professionals from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who are permitted to work within the People’s Republic of China may, if they meet the requirements set out in the Interim Provisions on the Qualification System for Registered Chemical Engineers and the Implementation Measures for the Qualification Examinations for Registered Chemical Engineers, apply to take the examinations in accordance with the prescribed procedures. 　　 (8) Applicants should refer to the specified application requirements, consider their own circumstances to determine whether they meet those requirements, and only after obtaining approval from their respective employers can they submit an application. No work experience required; a bachelor’s degree in this field or a related field is necessary

It’s possible to take the exam, but definitely not for the specialized subjects

If you take the exam while still in school, the chances of passing are relatively high; after graduation, you don’t have to worry about it anymore. It’s a shame that you can’t take the exam while in school – work experience is required!

One can take the basic exam, but after graduating and entering the design industry, they can take the professional exam after another three or four years; of course, work experience is related to educational background.
