Management System for the Detection of Occupational Hazard Factors in the WorkplaceTo strengthen the management of workplaces with occupational hazards and prevent the occurrence of occupational diseases, and in accordance with Article 19, Item 5 of the Law on the Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases, this system is established to carry out inspections of occupational hazard factors in our factory’s production areas. It aims to regulate the detection and management of such hazard factors.
I. Scope
Areas where there are risks of hydrogen sulfide poisoning and chlorine poisoning are as follows:
(a) Locations with toxic and harmful hydrogen sulfide (H2S) concentrations:
1. The manufacturing area in the phosphorus pentasulfide workshop
2. The sulfur processing section in the ethyl chloride workshop
3. The water washing and discharging area in the ethyl chloride workshop
(b) Locations with toxic and harmful chlorine (Cl2) concentrations:
1. The liquid chlorine cylinder storage area
2. The chlorine handling platform in the chlorine processing section of the ethyl chloride workshop
3. The chlorine processing section in the ethyl chloride workshop
II. Exposure Limits for Hazard Factors
In accordance with the Standards for Occupational Exposure Limits to Hazardous Factors in the Workplace, the exposure limits for occupational hazard factors in the workplace are as follows: hydrogen sulfide (H2S) ≤ 10 mg/m3, chlorine (Cl2) ≤ 1 mg/m3.
III. Detection
The daily detection of occupational hazard factors in the workplace is carried out by the Quality Control Department. Monitoring is conducted twice a day at the aforementioned locations, and the results of those tests are displayed in those areas. IV. Management: The daily management of various locations where occupational hazards exist is the responsibility of the respective units to which they belong. The Security Department is responsible for overseeing and monitoring occupational hazards, while the Administrative Office is in charge of overall management of such hazards as well as follow-up management of occupational diseases. If inspectors detect that occupational hazard factors exceed the permitted levels, they shall immediately notify the relevant departments to take effective control measures to ensure that the concentrations of harmful substances in the workplace remain within the specified limits.
