Brominated flame retardants are currently the most widely used type of flame retardants. Products in this series have been used to prevent fires in plastic products for as long as half a century; they feature mature production processes, excellent cost-performance ratios, and a wide range of applications. The decomposition temperature of bromine-based flame retardants matches that of polymer synthetic materials, allowing for optimal flame-retardant effects even at low usage levels. They are essential in electrical and electronic products where fires are likely to occur, and as of now, there are no better alternatives available in certain fields. Currently, more and more people prefer \"green\" flame retardants, believing that brominated flame retardants produce toxic fumes during combustion; as a result, there is a strong push for \"halogen-free\" flame retardants. He believes that forcing the adoption of alternatives at present could pose many problems and risks for domestic manufacturers and users. Therefore, bromine-based flame retardants still possess market competitiveness. Currently, the classic brominated flame retardants such as decabromodiphenyl ether and tetrabromobisphenol A have undergone comprehensive evaluation by the EU, generating a large amount of valuable data that essentially meets the registration requirements under the REACH regulation. In contrast, registering other alternatives requires significant funding for experiments to collect additional data. Our country has always been a major producer and consumer of flame retardants. Since the second half of 2008, as the impact of the financial crisis grew, flame retardant manufacturers received fewer and fewer international orders, and many trading companies have suspended their export operations of bromine-based flame retardants. At the same time, domestic market demand is also quite weak. Industry experts say that due to weak demand in the current market, product prices have been pushed very low. Fearing higher costs, companies are reluctant to sell at these low prices, which results in high inventory levels.
