I would like to ask fellow sailors: what color should be used for painting the outer wall of sulfuric acid storage tanks? Are there any specific requirements? I tried to find relevant information but couldn’t locate any. Please help me out! Thank you!
Acids or bases are generally light purple; below are some other substances, which I’d like to share with you. If there are any mistakes, I would appreciate it if experts could point them out. P01 Light purple Acid or base G02 Light green Water B05 Sea gray Steam YR0 Light brown Mineral oil, vegetable oil, animal oil, flammable liquids Y09 Iron yellow Gaseous or liquid gases (except air and oxygen) PB06 Light phthalo blue Air or oxygen — Black Other liquids
Brush bright red in acidic medium； It turns yellow in an alkaline medium.
Now, the outer walls of acid tanks are mostly milky white.
