Everyone, what type of flow meter is suitable for steam measurement? When the pipe diameter is large but the steam flow rate is small, how can it be measured?
There are many types of flow meters available for measuring steam flow. When used for measurement purposes, a high level of accuracy is required. Based on our usage needs, there are wedge flow meters (which seem to have been discontinued), as well as ABB flow meters. The advantages of these flow meters include temperature and pressure compensation; however, their installation is relatively more complex and requires certain technical skills. Despite this, they offer high accuracy, but at a correspondingly higher price. Orifice plate flow meters have mature technology; they offer high measurement accuracy, are easy to install, but they cause significant pressure loss in steam. They are also inexpensive.
