I heard from experienced workers that companies generally have requirements regarding the oil content; I assume that’s the case, otherwise there would be no need for oil separation. However, I’m not sure about the specific consequences of this issue. I’d like to ask everyone: what problems can arise if there’s too much oil present?
Too much oil can affect the quality of coke (volatiles)
As mentioned on the second floor, having too much oil mainly affects the quality of the coke! You can take certain measures if you bring enough oil! All our units are equipped with oil swirl separators!
Is it only related to the quality of coke? Will it have any impact on the high-pressure water pump?
The problem of oil in the quench water is relatively serious and rare; oil presence in the cold coke water system is quite common; It is recommended to appropriately increase the outlet temperature of the heating furnace or reduce the steam supply volume ;
Our system basically uses a mixture of cold coking water and cutting coking water, so oil contamination is quite severe; however, the management believes there’s no problem with that
An oil skimming line and a level gauge were added to the cold coker water tank, allowing for the timely skimming of oil into the heavy sludge oil tank whenever oil was detected.
