I don’t know what kind of communication the poster is referring to – in person or online. I think those who come here have all been involved in tower design. I myself have been working on the design of packed towers. The design of packed towers involves two aspects: the mechanical structure and the design of the distributor. For the mechanical structure, SW6.0 is used. The key to tower design lies in the design of the tower distributor. As for the design of the distributor, the first factor to consider is the number of holes, and the second is the structural form of the distributor. Nowadays, many large engineering companies outsource the design, manufacturing, and installation of these internal components. Therefore, design firms focus mainly on the mechanical structure, while manufacturing units are responsible for the design and manufacturing of the tower’s internal components. In any project, there are only a few towers; container equipment makes up the majority. I think it’s normal for there to be around 50 posts posted per day in the tower-related discussion section. If there are more posts, it’s necessary to ask the administrators to introduce new topics. Everyone is talking about creating high-quality forums these days. My concept of a high-quality forum isn’t based on the number of posts but rather on their quality. In my opinion, a high-quality forum is one where your questions can get proper answers, where you can find the information you need, where you can broaden your horizons and gain new perspectives, and where you can make good friends while receiving help and information. Therefore, I believe the direction for our discussions should be as follows: first, the challenges encountered in tower operation in production (which is related to the production technology section); second, the design, manufacturing, installation, and inspection of tower internal components; third, the development trends of towers and discussions on new types of towers (such as those using hypergravity, swirl plates, jets, etc.). New members are encouraged to propose such topics, and administrators are also encouraged to introduce such subjects. Those who provide good topics should be rewarded generously. It’s important to find experts in these areas and hire them as consultants, so that they can contribute to the discussions. There are some topic posts whose titles alone make me lose interest in even opening them to read. This is my experience with the section dedicated to tower equipment; not only that section, but also the few other sections I used to visit regularly, such as “Towers, Vessels, Heat Exchangers,” are similar in this regard. Actually, there’s no need to say that – you can find friends of all kinds online: college students, newcomers to the workplace, junior engineers with 5 years of experience, senior engineers with 10 years of experience, experienced engineers with 20 years of experience, and those who have worked their whole lives. Everyone starts from not knowing to knowing; there are many young people on BBS, and they learn from each other and improve together – it’s necessary to have a positive atmosphere. If the person on the 10th floor thinks that most of these things are meaningless, it seems they must be a very experienced veteran. What was said on the 9th floor is very true: building a high-quality forum relies not on the number of posts but on their quality. Most people who come here are there to learn and improve themselves. For a forum, the best way to increase its popularity is to post more topics that can capture our attention and resonate with us. Of course, such topics can also be encouraged through greater rewards. I also think that in this section, sub-sections for condensers, reboilers, storage tanks, etc. should be created as well, because they all go together; if they are placed in other sections, not many people will respond to them
