A cartridge filter (strainer type) is used for the solvent during hot regeneration in order to protect the heat exchanger. There is also a mention of a cartridge filter (small mesh size). It might be due to the difference in the pore size of the filter. In the context of Landau, “strainer” means: [Chemistry] a coarse filter; a filtering mesh. Small mesh size should refer to the small size of the sieve pores

Take a look at the English definition of strainer: a filter that retains larger pieces while smaller pieces and liquids pass through. It seems that the mesh size of this filter is larger. When encountering English materials with relevant context, it’s easier to figure out the meaning; everyone might as well be more bold in translating, just like mentioned above – one is a filter with a coarse mesh, and the other is one with a fine mesh
