One of the screw pumps in my company experiences overcurrent as soon as it is started, and it also fails to reach the rated flow rate. What could be the possible causes, according to the experts?
It must be due to the medium’s viscosity being too low!
Is it the high outlet pressure that causes a large current once a load is applied?
Whether the import and export processes are smooth, as well as issues with uneven material distribution – for example, when solids and liquids are not mixed thoroughly – and also problems such as a bent rotor or poor alignment of the couplings, as well as buffers that are nearing the end of their useful life.
Check the instructions – is the medium being used correct? The viscosity is too high. There might be a blockage.
(1) Blockage of the minimum pressure valve: When the minimum pressure valve fails to open or opens incompletely, the pressure inside the oil tank increases, which raises the load on the motor and leads to overload of the compressor motor. The reason is that the medium viscosity is too high or the motor speed has been set too high. Be sure to preheat the medium before starting! ! If the flow rate is not sufficient, it’s likely that the pump was selected with too low a viscosity
