This method is very difficult, as the coal seam is being mined, the working point keeps moving. And safety is also a problem. Decades of research in the Soviet Union have shown that underground gasification is only suitable on a small scale. This principle also applies to underground coal liquefaction.
Currently, controlling underground gasification is a major challenge; if this issue can be resolved, it will be possible to use underground gasification for FTO synthesis to produce oil, thereby reducing costs

I don’t think it’s very feasible; underground gasification has existed for years yet it hasn’t been implemented on a large scale
