Inspection contents and methods during container operation
Post my training presentation: The main aspects of routine inspections include three categories – process conditions, equipment status, and safety devices – with five specific items in each category. ① Check whether the process parameters (pressure, temperature, liquid level, reaction time, amount and concentration of reactants, composition, etc.) meet the requirements of safety operating procedures or process operation guidelines ; Special attention should be paid to the chemical composition and material ratios of the medium contained within the vessel, especially to ensure that those components that affect the vessel’s safety meet the required standards. ② Inspect the equipment to determine whether its operation, fastening, and lubrication are in good condition; check for any leaks at various connection points, as well as for signs of plastic deformation, corrosion, other defects, or suspicious issues. Also examine any abnormal vibrations or wear on the vessel and its pipelines. ③ Check the safety devices and accessories, such as the readings on pressure gauges, thermometers, and level gauges, and ensure that safety valves and rupture disc systems are in proper working order ; Check for any leaks or blockages in the pressure gauge’s pressure tapping tubes ; Check whether the spring of the spring-type safety valve is corroded or stuck due to oil contamination, and whether there are any signs of freezing in safety valves installed outdoors in winter ; Are these devices and instruments within the specified allowable usage period? ④ Check whether there is any leakage from the device, equipment, or piping systems. ⑤ Identify any potential hazards related to accidents. When conducting safety (routine) inspections during the operation of pressure vessels, it is necessary to do so at fixed times, at designated locations, and along predetermined routes. When conducting inspections in areas with explosion hazards, attention should be paid to eliminating static electricity on the human body. Specific contents of the routine inspection of safety accessories for pressure vessels: ① Safety valves – Check whether the selection is correct ; Is it within the validation period? ; Is it sensitive, accurate, free from leaks or blockages? ; Check whether the shut-off valve between the safety valve and the discharge port is fully open, and whether its seal is intact (if any). For lever-type safety valves, also check whether the devices designed to prevent the weight from moving freely and the lever from extending beyond its limits are in good condition. For spring-type safety valves, check whether their seals are intact; for gravity-type safety valves, check whether the devices designed to prevent the weight from coming loose are functional ; Is freezing occurring at low temperatures? ; Check whether the valve body spring shows signs of being clogged with oil or corroded. ② Gauge: Check whether the gauge selected is appropriate ; Check whether it is within the valid calibration period and whether the seal is intact ; Check whether the appearance, accuracy grade, range, and dial diameter meet the requirements ; Check whether the gauge readings on the pressure gauges in the same system are consistent ; Check whether the pressure gauge has a warning red line (mark) ; Whether the warning mark (red line) is drawn inside the dial. ③ Level gauge: Check whether the selection of the level gauge is appropriate ; Check whether the level gauge is within its specified maintenance validity period ; Check whether the appearance of the level gauge is intact, and whether there are any cracks or breaks in the glass plate (tube) ; Check whether the level gauge accessories are flexible, whether the valve components are stuck, and for any false level readings ; Is the leak prevention device of the level gauge used in pressure vessels that hold flammable materials, extremely hazardous materials, and liquefied gas materials in good condition? ; Check whether the level gauge has an high-level warning indicator ; Check whether the liquid level indication (reading) is clear.
