What is the typical surface hardness of the material in WCB CF8 castings? Thank you~
The hardness of CF8 castings with refining agents remains at HB=141-157. There is the following conversion relationship between Rockwell hardness HRC and Brinell hardness HB: HRC≈0.1HB
I’d like to ask gently, what is the material standard code for WCB CF8?
The hardness of WCB is slightly higher than that of CF3; the hardness of CF3, depending on the heat treatment applied, is generally around HRC15 to 20.
WCB generally refers to cast carbon steel per American standards; the material standard ASTM A216 CF8 denotes cast stainless steel per American standards, with composition similar to that of 304 stainless steel, while the material standard is ASTM A351
Hardness of trim material: Rockwell C. Corrosion resistance: 316S.S. – 8, Excellent; Stellite No.6 – 44, Good to Excellent; 416S.S. – 40, Fair; 440C S.S. – 56, Fair; 17-4 PH – 40, Excellent; Colmonoy (boron chromide) – 45-50, Fair to Good; Tungsten carbide – 72, Good in alkaline environments but poor in acidic ones. HRC values for a few other materials as well
