There is a single-story building separated in the middle by a fire wall; one side is used for storing Class C materials, while the other side serves as a production workshop. Is this arrangement in line with the requirements specified in the Building Code regarding the establishment of Class C warehouses within factory buildings?”

3.3.10 When Class C warehouses are installed within a factory building, they must be separated from the building using firewalls and floor slabs with a fire resistance rating of not less than 1.50 hours. When Class D and Class E warehouses are installed, they must be separated from the factory building using non-combustible partition walls with a fire resistance rating of not less than 2.50 hours and floor slabs with a fire resistance rating of 1.00 hour. I also agree with the original poster’s view; it should be considered a Class C warehouse located within a factory building, as the factory and the warehouse are part of the same structure. Clause 3.3.10 specifies that a firewall and floor slabs with a fire resistance rating of no less than 1.50 hours must be used to separate it from the factory building, and what the original poster mentioned meets these requirements as well – there is a firewall in between. Therefore, I believe it constitutes a Class C warehouse set up within a factory building.
