Are there any other ways to handle coal cinders besides landfilling? Theoretically, can they be used as building materials?
The chemical composition of cinder includes 40–50% silicon dioxide SiO2, 30–35% aluminum oxide Al2O3, 4–20% iron oxide Fe2O3, 1–5% calcium oxide CaO, as well as small amounts of magnesium, sulfur, carbon, etc. Depending on its composition, it can be used to manufacture cement, bricks, and refractory materials, among others. Some can be used to produce alumina or to extract rare metals such as gallium and germanium (there are reports indicating that the Japanese have used coal cinders to extract rare metals).
Are there any examples of its use in China? I’ve never heard of it before
It can be used as raw material for brick manufacturing, to produce cement, and for materials with special compositions, it can also be used to recover rare metals.
Processes such as roasting, acid leaching, alkali leaching, and decarburization/carbonization can effectively extract the valuable metals and silicon contained therein, which can be used to produce water treatment agents such as polyaluminum chloride, polyaluminum sulfate, or polyaluminum silicate (inorganic polymer flocculants). These agents are relatively inexpensive, but energy consumption is a concern! :'(

At present, it is mainly used for road construction, brick manufacturing, and cement production
Some are also mixed into raw coal and sold to power plants
