More and more schools are now offering degree programs in storage and transportation; there’s an overwhelming number of them. Let’s take a look at which schools offer such programs and what areas they focus on. I hope everyone will answer actively. Please check the names of schools mentioned by those above you before answering, so as to avoid repetitions as much as possible! I’ll first list a few schools that I’m aware of; those not mentioned can be added by others, thank you! 1. China University of Petroleum (Beijing and East China campuses) 2. Southwest University of Petroleum 3. Xi’an University of Petroleum 4. Logistics Engineering Institute of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army 5. Daqing Petroleum Institute 6. Fushun Petroleum Institute 7. Chongqing University of Science and Technology (formerly Chongqing Petroleum College) 8. Yangtze University (formerly Jianghan Petroleum Institute) 9. Civil Aviation Flight University 10. Chengdu University of Technology 11. South China University of Technology 12. Jiangsu University of Technology…… The above are the names of the universities that offer a degree program in storage and transportation, as far as I know. There is no order given to these institutions; it’s merely for statistical purposes, with no other intent. I hope everyone will feel free to add more!
Chengde Petroleum College :)
East China University of Science and Technology also offered it in 2002
It seems there’s one at Maoming Petrochemical as well
Are so many schools offering these programs? Are there that many job opportunities?
Introduction to the Department of Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering: The undergraduate program in Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering was established in the 1970s. After 30 years of dedicated effort, it has become the only program in Liaoning Province capable of training undergraduates, masters, and doctoral students in this field. Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering is now a key discipline in Liaoning Province as well as a model major there ; The Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering Laboratory is a key laboratory at the provincial level in Liaoning Province. With the approval of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, it has been designated as a \"Graduate Training Center for Key Disciplines in Liaoning’s Higher Education Institutions\" as well as a \"Professional Degree Training Center for Master of Engineering in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering in Liaoning Province.\" It has developed distinct training models and research directions. Research focus: Optimal operation of oil pipelines ; Sequential transportation of refined oil pipelines ; Optimized operation of oil and gas gathering and transportation ; Pipeline strength research ; Optimization of natural gas pipeline transportation ; Research on Hydrate Formation Prediction and Prevention ; Overall energy balance analysis of refining units and storage and transportation systems, as well as research on energy-saving technologies ; Multiphase flow and computational fluid dynamics, etc. Training Objectives: To cultivate senior engineering and technical professionals who possess a solid foundation in mathematics and physics as well as systematic knowledge of oil and gas storage and transportation; who have strong skills in computer application and engineering practice; and who are capable of engaging in the planning, design, construction, operation and management of oil and gas storage and transportation systems, as well as in technical research and development. The goal is to meet, in an comprehensive manner, the needs for professionals in this field across industries and sectors such as petroleum, petrochemicals, urban gas, transportation, and the military. Since its establishment, the major in Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation has undertaken numerous significant research projects, driven technological progress in this industry, and trained a large number of senior technical and managerial professionals in this field.
The major in Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation is a core program at China University of Petroleum (Beijing). Its training objective is to cultivate advanced engineering and technical professionals who can meet the needs of China’s socialist modernization drive and the rapid development of science and technology. Such professionals should achieve all-round development in moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic aspects, possess a reasonable knowledge structure, solid fundamental theories, systematic professional knowledge, and good professional skills. They should be able to engage in planning, design, construction management, operation management, scientific research, technology development, and technical consulting related to oil and gas storage and transportation systems as well as gas distribution systems, and they should also have practical abilities, an innovative spirit, and an international perspective. Core courses include College English, Advanced Mathematics, University Physics, University Chemistry, Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Pumps and Compressors, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Design and Management of Oil and Gas Pipelines, Storage and Loading/Unloading of Oil and Gas, Collection and Transportation of Oil and Gas in Mines, and Urban Gas Distribution. Features and Advantages: Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering is one of the flagship programs at our university. During the teaching process, our university’s traditional strengths in the field of oil and gas pipeline technology are fully utilized, enabling students to achieve a knowledge structure and professional skills in this area that place them at the forefront among undergraduate students majoring in oil and gas storage and transportation in China. Our university is positioned as a science and engineering institution with a strong focus on the petroleum and petrochemical industries. As one of the core petroleum-related majors, Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering holds an irreplaceable role in our university’s academic structure. Together with other core petroleum majors, it forms the platform for training professionals in the petroleum industry, which serves as the fundamental basis for the survival and development of our university. The employment rate for this major is close to 100%.
East China University of Science and Technology; I’m just a graduate student
Post-worker! Known as the “Tsinghua of the military”!
Heilongjiang Business University introduced a major in petroleum storage and transportation around 1986 (offering both bachelor’s and associate’s programs at that time); unfortunately, this major was discontinued in 1995 due to the large number of similar programs offered across the country, which made it difficult for this program to survive. . . . .
