I don’t know how to answer the first question asked by the poster; I will provide an answer once I learn it. 2. How is the fire-fighting water volume for Class A tank areas calculated? According to Article 8.2.4 of the Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings GB50016-2006, the outdoor fire-fighting water demand for storage tanks (areas) containing Class A, B, and C liquids shall be calculated as the sum of the water required for extinguishing fires and the water required for cooling. 1 The amount of water required for fire suppression shall be determined as the sum of the water needed for the foam fire suppression systems, foam guns, and foam nozzles located within the tank area. It shall be calculated in accordance with the relevant provisions of the current standards: «Code for Design of Low-Expansion Foam Fire Suppression Systems» GB50151, «Code for Design of High-Expansion and Medium-Expansion Foam Fire Suppression Systems» GB50196, or «Code for Design of Fixed Fire Cannon Fire Suppression Systems» GB50338 ; 2 The cooling water volume shall be calculated based on the maximum water demand for extinguishing a fire in the tank area at one time. Adjacent storage tanks within a range of 1.5 times the diameter of the wall of the burning tank should be cooled, and the supply area and intensity of the cooling water must not be less than those specified in Table 8.2.4 ; For details, see the main text of the Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings GB50016-2006. Personal understanding: Based on the 10 documents issued by the State Administration of Work Safety regarding clean wastewater, it should refer to the maximum amount of water required for firefighting in the factory area (including the time needed to respond to a fire), as well as the initial amount of polluted rainwater. Fire dikes and cofferdams do not need to be taken into account, as they are designed to store any leaked liquids. A project I worked on was handled in the same way. At present, it seems that the specific details are not yet available; for your reference only!
