Both factors need to be taken into consideration. Pressure and temperature are one aspect; it is necessary to determine whether the gasket can be used under those conditions. The type of medium involved also needs to be considered, as some toxic or harmful media require special gaskets.
Check whether the medium dissolves the gasket, whether it reacts with the gasket, and whether the gasket experiences any change in volume after being immersed in the medium. It is also necessary to consider the gasket’s pressure and temperature resistance under these immersion conditions; if possible, it is best to conduct experiments.
