Gentle experts, I have a question I’d like to ask. I want to add a submersible pump on top of the tank; the submersion depth should be 4 meters. The medium to be transported is chlorosilane (toxic, requires sealing, highly corrosive), and the flow rate should be less than 0.5 cubic meters. I would like to ask: 1. Is it feasible? 2. How to fix it? 3. What is the approximate rotational speed? 4. Can the sealing be guaranteed?

How much head is needed? It should be possible to do it, by fixing it at the tank opening in a flange style. The rotational speed needs to be determined based on the head and the pump type. The sealing type can be addressed by using series or double-end face sealing in combination with the PLAN52 or PLAN53 solutions.
The head is around 25 meters, the actual height is only 16 meters, but the density of the medium is relatively high. Contact the original designer of your installation; they should have extensive knowledge in dealing with such media. It’s difficult to provide assistance when the medium is toxic, as some issues cannot be resolved based on experience alone – standards and professional knowledge are more appropriate in such cases.
Submersible pumps indeed do not operate very stably, especially those with long shafts. It is possible to consider adding a small liquid collection tank on top of the main tank, connecting it to the bottom of the main tank with pipes, and then using small-flow pumps such as vortex pumps or diaphragm pumps.

Since there are tanks, for long-term and safe operation, it is advisable to install a horizontal pump at the bottom at an appropriate time. The volume is not large, the pressure is not high, and the head is not great; it’s a relatively simple design. Could we discuss this with the pump manufacturer to optimize the details and convert it into a submersible pump? The pump is small, so it can be lifted out for maintenance if there are any issues.
