How to remedy a leak in the tube bundle of a copper heat exchanger? Can it be welded?
Since the copper heat exchanger tube bundle is essentially a bundle made by expansion joining, tube plugging is the method generally used to address leaks in such bundles； For leaks at the pipe end flaring, soldering can be used for sealing.
Blocking the pipe is generally used as a solution； Simple and easy! There are also cases of tube replacement; in our factory, the tubes of the York centrifugal refrigerators leaked, and the manufacturer used specialized equipment to replace those faulty tubes. I don’t know exactly how the replacement is carried out! It’s not particularly complicated. The specific method to be used must take into account the impact on the heat exchange area as well as the site conditions!
Using standard pipe blockage treatment will suffice； Simple and easy! As far as I know, soldering doesn’t seem to work; it’s not corrosion-resistant! ! !
