I have a question regarding design criteria in tank standards: For a fixed-roof tank, according to clause 7.1.3 of GB50341, the nominal thickness without considering corrosion allowance must be no less than 4.5 mm. Does this mean that if the corrosion allowance is 2 mm, then a plate thickness of at least 8 mm is required? Even if a thickness of 6 mm meets the calculation requirements, it is not acceptable? Solving this problem from a manufacturing perspective is simple: it is sufficient to purchase coil sheets with a thickness of 7.3 millimeters, as their actual thickness is 7 millimeters, thus resolving the cost issue. If the corrosion margin is 2, the nominal thickness of the top plate should not be less than 6.5 mm. The thickness of the tank roof is usually determined by its stiffness. I’m not aware of the size of your tank; in most cases, this thickness is not sufficient

Do you mean a fixed roof as in an arched roof? It generally needs to be more than 8 mm; if the tank’s capacity is small, stainless steel could be considered
