When connecting PROFIBUS devices, we can purchase cables and connectors provided by the manufacturers, but what should we do if we encounter devices that only support MODBUS? As far as I know and from the information I’ve gathered, there are currently no specialized cables for connecting MODBUS devices. All cables connected to the MB must be welded by yourself. Including professionals. Next, let’s weld one together: First, prepare a 9-pin connector. Identify your computer’s serial port and the interface of the device you want to connect to, and determine which is the male and which is the female connector. Usually, it is one male and one female. Then find a cable; whether shielding is needed depends on the environment in which you will use it. If it is used in a laboratory, the requirements for the wires are not as high. The connection method is as follows: My way of connecting is to swap pairs 23 and 46, connect pair 5 directly, and keep pairs 7 and 8 short.
