A layperson asks a layperson’s question: is there acid- and alkali-resistant cement? Are there sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid that are resistant to acids alone or resistant to bases alone?
There should be special cement resistant to acids and alkalis. The original poster can take a look at the following text. Although there are many types of cement, over 95% of them belong to the silicate cement category; the chemical composition is altered according to the requirements of a particular project, or certain substances that modify its properties are added during use. Some specific classification methods are as follows: 1. Cement is classified according to its purpose and properties as follows: (1) General-purpose cement: The type of cement commonly used in general civil engineering projects. General-purpose cement mainly refers to the six types of cement specified in GB175—1999, GB1344—1999, and GB12958—1999, namely Portland cement, ordinary Portland cement, slag Portland cement, pozzolanic Portland cement, fly ash Portland cement, and composite Portland cement. (2) Special-purpose cement: Cement designed for specific uses. For example: Grade G oil well cement, road Portland cement. (3) Special-purpose cement: A type of cement with relatively outstanding properties. Such as: rapid-hardening silicate cement, low-heat slag silicate cement, expansive sulphoaluminate cement. 2. Cement is classified according to the name of its main hydraulic material as follows: (1) Silicate cement, also known as Portland cement in foreign countries ; (2) Aluminate cement ; (3) Sulphoaluminate cement ; (4) Ferraluminate cement ; (5) Fluoroaluminate cement ; (6) Cement whose main components are volcanic ash or potential hydraulic materials and other active materials. 3. Cement is classified according to its main technical properties as follows: (1) Setting speed: it is divided into fast-setting and ultra-fast-setting types ; (2) Heat of hydration: divided into medium and low heat categories ; (3) Sulfate resistance: divided into medium sulfate corrosion resistance and high sulfate corrosion resistance ; (4) Expansibility: divided into expansion and self-stress types ; (5) High-temperature resistance: The high-temperature resistance of aluminate cement is classified according to the alumina content in the cement. 4. Cement is classified according to its naming principles: The naming of cement is based on different categories, using the main hydraulic minerals, supplementary materials, applications, and key characteristics of the cement, with an emphasis on simplicity and accuracy; abbreviations are permitted when the name is too long. General-purpose cement is named by combining the name of the main hydraulic mineral in cement with the name of the supplementary materials or some other appropriate name. Special-purpose cement is named according to its specific use and can come in different grades. Characteristic cement is named after the main hydraulic mineral of cement, along with its key characteristics; it may also be designated by different grades or the names of mixed materials. Cement whose main components are pozzolanic or potentially hydraulic materials as well as other active materials is named by combining the name of the main component with the name of the active material; it may also be accompanied by a descriptive term, such as gypsum slag cement or lime pozzolanic cement.
Among the classifications of cement based on its main technical properties is: (3) Sulfate resistance: categorized into medium sulfate corrosion resistance and high sulfate corrosion resistance. I personally think there should also be special cements that can withstand alkaline conditions.
There is probably no cement that is resistant to acids and alkalis; what you can do is level the floor with cement and then apply acid- and alkali-resistant paint or protective materials on top of it
The composition of the cement has been determined. There are probably none that are resistant to acids and alkalis. It is generally applied as a coating on concrete to protect the foundation from corrosion.
As far as I know, there isn’t any; the acid-resistant enclosures in my installations are all made of acid-resistant tiles, perhaps out of economic considerations. Someone who is in the know could share some information; it would help us learn a lot. Thank you
