Suppose we have a packed tower with a height of around 1 meter, and it consists of three sections, each containing metal packing that is about 5-6 meters long. There is an access hatch at the bottom of each section, as well as one at the top. Considering the safety issues and difficulties associated with working in confined spaces, what methods can be used to remove the metal packing during maintenance, while taking into account safety, operational complexity, and cost factors? My idea: Combine 2 and 3. Maintenance is a tough and dangerous task; it is essential to follow the procedures and carry out all necessary preparations.
Typically, a bulk packed tower is designed with a filling port and a discharging port; the key is to ensure proper replacement of the packing, with discharge taking place directly through the discharging port, allowing no need for people to enter the container.
It seems that it’s easier to remove the sections one by one using a crane and place them on the ground, so as to replace the filler or carry out repairs. :lol
Take proper safety measures; it’s best to obtain the construction plan from the manhole
The packing tower is due for maintenance next month, and it’s really frustrating to have to prepare a maintenance plan without any prior experience in such tasks
