Is the inner diameter of the butterfly valve particularly small and not tightly fitted to the flange?

Today, a 1.6MPa, DN400 turbine butterfly valve was installed; its inner diameter is only 390, and it doesn’t seal tightly against the flange, which is quite strange. It’s fine to weld the flange to the pipe; there’s no problem with that. However, the sealing rubber of the valve is more than one centimeter larger in size. I’m not sure why this is the case – could anyone from the community explain why? ? What should be done then? ?
I’m not quite sure what you mean. It seems to me that the flange of the valve and the pipe flange do not follow the same standards. The solution is to replace the valve; if that doesn’t work, then replace the flange. As a last resort, one can find someone to manufacture a flange that matches the valve’s flange, and then install it
