You can consult the manufacturer; they will provide some suggestions. Generally, the displacement volume of the same pump varies when used in different applications, so it’s better to handle each case on its own!
I’ve never seen rubber joints at the pump’s inlet and outlet – are rubber joints durable? Expansion joints can be seen at the inlet and outlet of the fan.
Rubber joints are generally used in pumps that operate under low pressure and high temperatures; their main function is to provide stress compensation for the pipes, thereby preventing damage to the pump due to excessive stress
Generally, only large pumps use this component; pumps of normal size do not need it, unless the pump experiences extremely high levels of vibration, in which case this component is necessary. It is more appropriate to leave the specific selection to the manufacturer. But first, you need to think carefully about whether you need it here.
Can flange connections for rubber joints be made without gaskets? If it is to be used, which one should be chosen? Can a graphite metal wound gasket be used?
Gaskets must be used, but the type of gasket to be employed should be determined based on the properties of the material.
The 325kw pumps here don’t have expansion joints at their outlets; I’m not sure why pumps of that type need them everywhere Inlets and outlets for the ice machine need to be provided, as there is significant displacement of the pipes during startup and shutdown.
