The analysis of silver sheet corrosion for our plant’s aviation fuel products shows values that fluctuate between grade 0 and grade 1. As for what constitutes grade 1 and what constitutes grade 0, our laboratory is unable to provide clear criteria for determination, which makes it seem highly subjective. Silver sheet corrosion is a qualitative indicator rather than a quantitative one; it involves observing the color changes of the silver sheets being tested. The distinction between grade 0 and grade 1 can sometimes vary from person to person – in stricter assessments it might be classified as grade 1, while in more lenient assessments it could be rated as grade 0. However, for grades 2 and above, there is a very clear difference, making it easy to make an accurate judgment. By providing training to maintain a stable workforce of laboratory technicians, human error can be minimized as much as possible. If you often experience fluctuations between level 0 and level 1, it is likely a problem with your operation methods, indicating that the corrosion prevention for the product is not optimal yet.
