Today I saw a small label on the oil injector of the coke oven gas compressor, with the pressure indicated as 32 MPa. Where exactly is such high pressure used to push the oil into the cylinder? Another question is why some machines use less oil, requiring refueling only every 3 hours. Some machines consume a large amount of oil. Add it every hour. I don’t quite understand.
The high-pressure oil injector is of a universal design; manufacturers design it in accordance with the requirements of ammonia synthesis systems. The amount of oil can be adjusted as needed; the oil consumption is related to the design of the compressor. Compressors with different structures have varying piston assemblies and stuffing box designs, which results in different requirements for oil volume.

The instructions that come with the product should specify the required amount of oil; one can try reducing this amount and then observe the level of wear after operating the device for a while, keeping records of it. By making comparisons, an appropriate amount of oil can be determined. Of course, more oil isn’t always better either; the more oil that is used, the greater the waste. Additionally, if not enough oil is used, more gas will be entrained, which is detrimental to the process. This is why oil-free lubrication is used in the last stage.
The coke oven gas compressor oil injector is essentially a small piston pump, and the stroke of the piston can be adjusted to control the amount of oil injected. It is added to the inner wall of the cylinder; the different oil injection amounts for the same model are due to the fact that no one adjusts the amount of oil injected.
