For fire-retardant respirators installed on the top of formaldehyde tanks, due to the strong self-polymerization of formaldehyde, formaldehyde vapor will polymerize and agglomerate at the respirator over time (usually two or three months), causing the elastic parts of the respirator to fail, causing more formaldehyde vapor to overflow from the respirator. When this happens, we have to remove the respirator and use steam to melt the polyformaldehyde. The smell is very strong every time it is melted. Is there a good way? Please give me some advice!
1. Reference method one: Configure the nitrogen sealing device of the storage tank to seal the formaldehyde vapor with low-pressure nitrogen to reduce the number of breaths. This reduces the frequency of formaldehyde vapor passing through the breathing valve and reduces the chance of generating polyformaldehyde. 2. Reference method two: Connect the steam pipe directly to the breathing valve, and regularly blow out the polyformaldehyde with steam without removing the breathing valve.
Our formaldehyde storage tanks do not have this problem. Is the temperature at which you store formaldehyde too high? Normally, the storage temperature of 37% formaldehyde solution should be kept at 30-40 degrees. This will not have a big impact on the fire retardant breathing valve. It is not possible. The second item on the 2nd floor is a good way. The polymerized formaldehyde is processed fastest with steam.
