The regeneration tower of our gas treatment unit’s desulfurization section has experienced pressure buildup at the top of the tower on several occasions recently, and the cause is unknown. Please advise! Phenomenon: The feed temperature to the regeneration tower decreases, the steam flow rate to the reboiler increases, the top temperature rises gradually, and the top pressure reaches over 0.2 MP. Treatment: 1. Discard some coolers and equipment, then discharge directly into the low-pressure pipeline (without pressure) ; 2. Fully open the control valve bypass line ; 3. Purging from the top of the regeneration tower to the discharge pipeline ; None have long-term effects. Is the sulfur content in the raw materials too high? It was possible to pre-process it at a higher level without this phenomenon occurring. Is nitrogen added during the transportation of raw materials? Contains monothiol? I don’t understand, please help! ! !
It’s described in rather general terms, making it difficult to determine; aside from the pressure at the top of the tower, what about the pressures in the liquid separation tanks downstream and in each section before the outlet device? What is the pressure difference of the tower?
It could be: 1. Blockage in the path after the acidic gas outlet device (crystallization at the pressure control point, full liquid separation tanks in the pipeline network, throttling in the subsequent recovery devices, etc.). 2. Blockage of the defoaming screen at the outlet of the acidic gas liquid separation tank due to crystallization (this can be determined by activating the flare). The issue can be easily resolved depending on the specific situation
