In response to the original poster’s question, the following suggestions are offered: 1. The top priority is to address the leaking equipment as soon as possible, as this is the fundamental solution. Otherwise, the acid will be leaking at all times, requiring neutralization with alkali constantly, which is not worth it and is not a viable approach. 2. If the pH is only slightly low, it is recommended to replace it with additional water (but ensure that the pH of the wastewater discharged meets the required standards) ; If the PH is significantly low, it indicates significant leakage; in such cases, alkali can be added to neutralize it, and at the same time, more water should be supplied for replacement.
The pH of the circulating water should be between 6.8 and 9.5; it depends on the level of alkalinity. Adding alkali is only a temporary solution – the leakage points must be sealed! If it’s not possible to stop production for the time being, the circulation rate and wastewater discharge volume can be increased; however, it’s difficult to determine the right amount of alkali to use!

A lot has already been said upstairs regarding the issue of high acidity; adding alkali to neutralize it can only serve as a temporary solution. If too much alkali is used, scaling in the pipes may occur severely, so this issue must be addressed as soon as possible.
