14 Applications of Simulators 14.1 Uses of Simulators: The English term for a simulator is “Simulator”. It functions as an emulator, similar to our DCS hardware. We can load the configured Digitool programs into the simulator for debugging and simulation purposes, thereby making the configuration programs more complete. 14.2 Installing the anti-counterfeiting tool ntsc: Click on the ntsc program with the mouse, and follow the instructions to install the anti-counterfeiting tool step by step. Once the installation is complete, restart the computer for it to take effect. 14.3 Adding a Simulator to the project tree: Click Freelance2000V6.1 Digitool→OK→OK→Project→new→file name→user task→insert D-PS station→go to hardware configuration→click insert to add an Emulator simulator→specify the resources→click network, set the simulator’s IP address to 172.16.1.41; this IP address should be the same as that of Digitool and Digivis, while the ID address can differ from that of Digitool and Digivis. Save and exit. 14.4 Setting the local TCP and IP addresses: Use the mouse to select “Network Neighborhood” → right-click → Properties → Local Area Connection → Properties → TCP/IP Addresses → Specify the IP address as 172.16.1.41 (this address should be the same as that of Digitool) → OK. 14.5 Connecting: Select Internet Explorer and enter http://localhost:8888 in the address bar; once connected, change the “0” in Station ID to “1” (this “1” represents the ID address of the emulator, and it should be changed according to the respective ID address) → Click “Start Controller” to enter the emulator’s management interface → Click “GUI.Window” to access the emulator → Click “CONNECT” to start the emulator → Click “STOP” to halt the emulator → Click “RUN” to start the emulator again → Click “DISCONNECT” to disconnect from the emulator. 14.6 Network settings: Since the URL address used when the emulator is running is 127.0.0.1, it is necessary to change the EMULATOR’s IP address to 127.0.0.1 in Digitool. Go to the Hardware Structure section, select the network settings there, and open the Network Configuration window. Double-click on EMULATOR to change its IP address to 127.0.0.1. Similarly, the IP addresses of Digivis and Digitool also need to be changed to 127.0.0.1. In the programs, start Freelance2000 Tools V6.1, Digitool Configure, and Digivis Configure, and change the resource IP addresses to 127.0.0.1. 14.7 Loading the configured program: After checking that the configured program is correct, click on Commissioning to turn it into Configuration (online mode). At this point, the D-PS station displays a Version error message. Right-click and select Load all stations; then Digitool will operate normally. To get Digivis running, right-click again and select Load all stations; Digivis will then start working, allowing for free operation. Appendix:
