Can boiler steel plates be used to their limit?

If 1800m or 2000mm thick plates are to be used on the boiler, can they be used up to their maximum thickness, or does part of them have to be cut off? How much at least needs to be cut off?
Personal opinion: Generally, our clients want to purchase products in the sizes they require. So if the boards you mentioned are already of the right size, there’s no need for any cutting – saving material is even more important in that case. I consider it from this perspective.
What you mean by cutting off a portion is the machining allowance; it’s not the case that a plate of 1800mm requires one of 1900mm.
I remember that part of it was supposed to be cut off.
The plates to be used on boilers should be selected based on the quality of the steel sheets and the manufacturing processes required for production; as long as they meet the specified requirements, this will help improve the efficiency of material utilization.
