I would like to ask the experts: in equipment layout diagrams and piping layout diagrams, what is the difference between things like EL5.000 and ¢EL5.000? Under what circumstances should the latter method be used for elevations? Thank you!
¢EL5.000: Refers to the elevation at the center of the pipe; EL5.000: Other elevations, such as those of platforms, etc. You can take a look at the \"Piping Design Diagram Symbols for Petrochemical Enterprises\"; there are explanations in it.
¢EL5.000: Generally refers to the elevation of the center line of the pipe. BOP EL 5000: Indicates the height of the bottom of the pipe. TOP EL 5000: Indicates the height of the top of the pipe. TOS EL 5000: TOP OF STEEL, which refers to the height of the steel structure of the platform. EL 5000: Usually simply denotes the upper level of an object; it could refer to equipment or operational elements as well.
It was explained in great detail upstairs. Let me add that CL.EL denotes the center elevation. FL.CL denotes the floor elevation. PL.EL denotes the platform elevation. Probably each facility has its own logo; in any case, it follows the guidelines outlined in the piping engineering design standards for petrochemical enterprises, with little difference.
