Are there any special installation requirements for pneumatic cut-off ball valves, such as the need to install them horizontally or vertically, or requirements regarding the straight pipe sections before and after the valve?

There are many types of pneumatic shut-off valves: butterfly valves, ball valves, gate valves, and globe valves can all be used as shut-off valves. So I’m not sure what type of valve is being used in your facility. The arrow on the valve body should point in the same direction as the flow of the medium; if it doesn’t, then there’s no problem! Generally, these valves are installed either horizontally, vertically, or sideways, but it’s best not to install them upside down! :) :) Since I don’t know what type of valve is being used in your facility, it will be easier for everyone to suggest the appropriate solution! :) :) :)
Vertical installation of pneumatic cut-off ball valves may result in sealing performance that does not meet the required standards. If strict closure is not required of the control valve, it can be installed vertically; however, vertical installation is generally not recommended. Below are some installation requirements for control valves: 1. The installation location of the control valve should meet the requirements of the process flow design, and it should be located near the primary indicating instruments related to it, so that these instruments can be observed easily when manually operating the bypass valve; 2. The control valve should be installed on the ground or a platform in a location that facilitates operation and maintenance ; 3. The control valve should be installed vertically and upright on a horizontal pipeline; in special cases, it may be installed horizontally or at an angle, but support must be provided ; 4. When installing the control valve assembly (including control valves, bypass valves, shut-off valves, and drain valves) in elevation, the control valve should be installed below the bypass. Control valves with a nominal diameter of less than 25 mm can also be installed above the bypass ; 5. The clear height from the bottom of the control valve to the ground or platform surface should not be less than 400 mm. For single- and double-seat control valves with reverse-mounted spools, it is advisable to leave space below the valve body for extracting the spool ; 6. There should be a clearance of not less than 2 mm above the top of the control valve diaphragm head. When the control valve and the bypass valve are arranged one above the other, their positions should be spaced apart ; 7. Gate valves should be used for isolation valves, while globe valves should be used for bypass valves; however, when the nominal diameter of the bypass valve is greater than 150 mm, a gate valve can also be used. The two isolation valves and the control valve should not be arranged in a straight line ; 8. A drain valve should be installed at the lowest point in the pipeline between the inlet side of the control valve and the shut-off valve upstream of it; a gate valve can be used as this drain valve ; 9. On pipelines containing solid particles in the medium, the control valve and the bypass valve should be arranged on the same plane, or the bypass valve should be placed below the control valve ; 10. On low-temperature and high-temperature pipelines, one of the two supports for the control valve assembly should be a fixed support, while the other should be a sliding support ; 11. Control valves should be installed in an environment where the temperature is not higher than 60 °C and not lower than -40 °C, and away from sources of vibration ; 12. When there are multiple control valve assemblies in one area, it is necessary to consider ensuring consistency in design, as well as neatness, aesthetics, and ease of operation ; 13. When the diameters of the control valve and the isolation valve differ, the reducer should be installed near the control chamber ; 14. Pay attention to whether there are any special requirements from the manufacturing process regarding the position of the control valve.
Where are the regulations for these things?
I tell you that apart from installing it in reverse, there’s nothing else that won’t work~ but the flag-style installation has an impact on the cylinder and can accelerate its wear. As for the requirements regarding the straight pipe sections before and after the valve you mentioned, a stop valve must be either fully open or fully closed – how could that possibly have any impact?
Oh, one more thing: if the cylinder volume is large, such as in the case of fork valves mounted in a flag style, be sure to use a support bracket
