I have a question regarding the processing of Tahe crude oil. When alkaline desulfurizing agents are added to the crude oil, electrical desalination leads to abnormal fluctuations in the liquid level, an unstable thickness of the emulsion layer, frequent tripping of transformers, an increase in the oil content in the water after dehydration, and a salt content after treatment that often exceeds 40 mg/l. The water injection volume is 3% lower. Several demulsifiers have been tried, but with poor results. How can this problem be resolved more effectively? Is it feasible to add water and use low-temperature demulsifiers for washing in the tank area? Is it effective to add a third stage of electrical desalination? Given the severe emulsification of crude oil, has the design of the electrical desalination process taken into account the use of a stronger electric field?

It would definitely be beneficial if water and a low-temperature demulsifier could be added to the tank area, as this would allow the sodium hydroxide present in the crude oil to be removed, thereby **reducing the impact on the facility**. I would like to share my personal opinion on the issue of upgrading to first-stage electrodesalination: without resolving the impact of sulfur-fixing agents on refinery units, making modifications to the electrodesalination system will not yield very good results.
