Will there be deviations in the readings of isotope (such as cesium, cobalt) level gauges? What are the reasons for the fluctuations or measurement errors?
If scaling forms on the inside of the tank, it will cause radiation attenuation, thereby affecting the readings. Generally speaking, any value over 1 cm has a significant impact. Then it’s necessary to adjust the distance between the emission source and the tank, which is quite troublesome.
As far as I know, radioactive level gauges generally do not measure the liquid level continuously; they function more like level switches. Manufacturers can use multiple monitoring points, perform calculations, and make adjustments to obtain a continuous curve that facilitates operation by the staff. I think it’s inevitable for errors to occur with this method of measurement! But the measurement points at the source installation location must be accurate! :handshake
