What do the pressure readings shown on the pressure gauges on the inlet pipeline and the outlet pipeline of the reaction vessel respectively mean? Is it the resistance of the material?
The pressure gauge at the reactor inlet shows the feed pressure to the reactor, while the pressure gauge at the outlet indicates the pressure of the system after reaction inside the reactor.
It is used to display the pressure conditions at the reactor’s inlet and outlet in real time, and it is particularly important for high-temperature, high-pressure reactions that involve a gas phase. During routine inspections on site, workers generally check whether the readings on the pressure gauges at the reactor’s inlet and outlet are normal and whether they match the pressures monitored in the control room.
As far as I know, it is to monitor the pressure drop, an important parameter of the reactor, and keep it within a controllable range; if the pressure drop becomes too high, it is necessary to perform head trimming on the reactor in order to protect the catalysts inside and so on; It can be considered as resistance. So what’s the reason? A large pressure drop can cause the catalyst to break down; as a result, the resistance encountered by the airflow increases, which in turn leads to an even greater pressure drop. This creates a vicious cycle, and in the end it is the catalyst that gets damaged. Therefore, it’s essential to keep this under control ; I’m not sure if my understanding is correct?
The pressure difference between the two is the inlet and outlet pressure difference for centrifugation
