How to install drain valves on steam pipelines

Steam is introduced into the heater; the steam pipeline is located at a lower position, and there is an automatic valve there, with manual valves placed before and after it. There is also a bypass manual valve. If a drain valve is to be installed, where should it be positioned?
It should be somewhere between the manual valve and the automatic valve, near the inlet.
It should be on the pipeline between the first shut-off valve and the control valve.

I think it can be added between the two manual valves. There is no problem on either side of the control valve, and it has no impact.
