What is the unit of ae/ha?

As the title says. How should it be converted? Thank you! Here is an example found online: Applying sequential glyphosate applications or increasing the glyphosate rate from 420 g ae/ha to 840 g/ha frequently increased common waterhemp control in 76-cm rows.
Ha seems to mean hectare, but I’m not sure what ae means; I hope someone knowledgeable can help answer this……
AE is the agronomic utilization rate of the fertilizer, while AE/ha refers to the optimal amount of this fertilizer to be applied per hectare.
Did the poster make a typing mistake? It should be ai/ha; this refers to the active ingredient applied per hectare
But it says something about the amount of pesticides used online, right? It refers to the amount of glyphosate used. It can also be seen from that example
There’s no mistake; I’ve seen it in many documents and online articles, so it should be correct.
Upon verification, ae refers to Active equivalent, and ha refers to hectare
If AE refers to Active equivalent, it can be translated as the effective amount
