Our company needs to design a spherical tank for storing vinyl chloride. We found that the standard to be followed is GB50160-2008; we’re not sure whether this standard is actually being applied. Please help us with this.
GB50160-2008 Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises – The “Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises” is hereby approved as a standard, with the code number GB50160-2008; it shall come into effect on July 1, 2009. Among them, clauses 4.1.6, 4.1.8, 4.1.9, 4.2.12, 4.4.6, 5.1.3, 5.2.1, 5.2.7, 5.2.16, 5.2.18(2, 3, 5), 5.3.3(1, 2), 5.3.4, 5.5.1, 5.5.2, 5.5.12, 5.5.13, 5.5.14, 5.5.17, 5.5.21(1, 2), 5.6.1, 6.2.6, 6.2.8, 6.3.2(1, 2, 4, 5), 6.3.3, 6.4.1(2, 3), 6.4.2(6), 6.4.3(1, 2), 6.4.4(1), 6.5.1(2), 6.6.3, 6.6.5, 7.1.4, 7.2.2, 7.2.16, 7.3.3, 8.3.1, 8.3.8, 8.4.5(1), 8.7.2(1, 2), 8.10.1, 8.10.4(1, 2, 3), 8.12.1, 8.12.2(1), 9.1.4, 9.2.3(1), and 9.3.1 are mandatory provisions that must be strictly enforced. The original \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\" GB50160-92 (1999 edition) is also repealed simultaneously. These specifications are organized by our Department’s Standard Quota Research Institute and published by China Planning Press. Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China, December 30, 2008: If the project you are designing can be completed by July 1, it can be designed in accordance with the old fire protection codes for petrochemical enterprises; if it is completed after July 1, then the new design standards should be taken into consideration.
It has not been implemented yet; it will come into effect on July 1, 2009!
