The “template” mentioned by the poster probably refers to template construction. The following are the preparatory work for template construction: (1) Setting out of the center line and position lines: First, use a theodolite to determine the axis lines of the building’s corner columns and walls, and using these axis lines as a starting point, measure each individual axis line. When setting out the formwork, the site should first be cleaned, and then the inner edges and center line of the formwork should be marked with ink lines according to the construction drawings. (2) Carry out elevation measurement work: Use a level to transfer the horizontal elevation of the building to the location where the formwork will be installed. (3) Carry out leveling work: The bottom of the formwork support should be leveled in advance to ensure the correct position of the formwork and prevent mortar from seeping through at its bottom. The leveling method involves applying a layer of 1:3 cement mortar along the inner edge lines of the formwork. (4) Set the template positioning reference: Use rebar for positioning, that is, cut rebar of a certain length according to the cross-sectional dimensions of the component and spot-weld it to the main rebar (ensuring that the cross-section of the main rebar is not damaged) to ensure the accurate position of the rebar relative to the template.
Templates generally fall into 3 categories: 1. Ordinary steel formwork: Small steel models, connected using steel corner fittings. Disadvantages: After casting, multiple gray seams appear on the cast surface; if the surface of the formwork is not smooth, the cast surface will also be uneven, which affects subsequent processing steps. It is used less frequently these days. Advantages: It can be reused, is easy to install, and has a lower cost. 2. Wooden formwork: A frame is constructed using wood, bamboo strips and boards are nailed to this frame, and then concrete is poured in. This method is still used nowadays. Disadvantages: The cost is slightly higher, and its reusability is lower than that of ordinary steel formwork. Advantages: High level of flatness. 3. Large steel formwork: Large, thick steel sheets that are assembled together and then lifted into place for pouring concrete. It is used primarily for pouring concrete in large areas such as walls and ceilings. Combining the advantages of ordinary steel and wooden formwork, it allows for fast installation and rapid shaping; the details are handled using wooden formwork during construction.
