Please explain more clearly: isn’t the high-pressure loop in the full-circulation aqueous solution method just a separate synthesis tower? Are you asking if it should be modified to a high-pressure loop like in the stripping method?
As the original poster said, the full-circulation water solution method is indeed well-developed. However, in China, the urea production using water solutions is mainly carried out by small and medium-sized nitrogen fertilizer manufacturers; as a result, many of these companies have carried out capacity expansion upgrades. As production capacity increases and the recycling load grows, many manufacturers have installed high-pressure decomposition recycling systems, with the CO2 stripping process being the most common. The specific process equipment can refer to the CO2 stripping process used by Stamicarbon.
If the original poster wants to replace the high-pressure section of the aqueous solution process with one using a stripping process, then there is indeed the issue of what scale is necessary to make it economical. I think that if the production scale is below 500 tons per day, it shouldn’t be considered, as it is not economical. Of course, it’s better if the scale can be a bit higher.

In fact, in terms of the device configuration, whether it is CO2 stripping or ammonia stripping, the high-pressure sections are basically similar. The ammonia stripping system is equipped with a medium-pressure decomposition and recovery system, whereas the CO2 stripping system does not have such a system; this is the main difference between the two. Of course, it is precisely because of this difference that the operating parameters for the high-pressure sections of the two systems are different: the ammonia-to-carbon ratio in ammonia stripping is slightly higher, while it is slightly lower in CO2 stripping. In a sense, after the modification of its aqueous solution process, Shandong Hualu Hengsheng’s process is more similar in configuration to the NH3 stripping process; the specific operating parameters are also estimated based on the ammonia stripping process (the actual operating parameters are not known, so those who are aware of them are asked to provide additional information).
