Hello everyone, I am currently designing a chemical unit. The specification used is the "Building Regulations", but when arranging the liquefied hydrocarbon tank area, the construction regulations only say that there is no spacing requirement between the pump and the tank, but this time we are placing it outside the tank area. The construction regulations do not specify the spacing requirements outside the tank area. What should we do? Do we refer to the "Petrochemical Regulations" (Code for Design of Fire Protection for Petrochemical Enterprises). In addition, does the tank area refer to the space within the fire dike or an area? It may be unsafe to install a pump in a liquefied hydrocarbon tank farm unless your explosion protection is done well.
Refer to the "Petrochemical Regulations" and it is best to call the local fire department for information.

It is feasible to place liquid hydrocarbon pumps in the tank area, as long as electrical explosion-proofing is carried out as required, and the distance between the pump rooms when placed outside the tank area is calculated. It is recommended to refer to the urban gas design specifications.

The storage tank layout of liquefied hydrocarbons should be designed in accordance with the applicable scope of GB50160, the design fire protection code for petrochemical enterprises. In principle, it should not be designed according to construction regulations.

I agree with LS, liquefied hydrocarbons should refer to the "Petrochemical Regulations". In the "Construction Regulations", liquefied hydrocarbons are not classified. Instead, liquids with a flash point less than 28 degrees are classified into Category A. However, it is obvious that liquefied hydrocarbons are more dangerous (the "Petrochemical Regulations" classify them into Category A). Therefore, the pump should be placed outside the fire embankment in strict accordance with the "Petrochemical Regulations". In addition, I personally feel that the tank farm refers to an area, not just the fire embankment.
